Back to blogging...

We have decided that from now on discontinued items will be posted on the back office under Biz Tools so that this page can remain free for more interesting posts. So here I am trying to be more interesting! We are completely sold out of our old catalog items, so from now on sell just from the new catalog.

Paul and Becky are on a plane to China right now, bound for the Canton fair and days of walking, looking for just the right decor for our Spring 2010 catalog. It's always so exciting when they return with photos of what they ordered, and when the samples arrive it's like Christmas morning. We set up the displays in the lobby and take photos for the catalog. Art and Shane are hard at work on the new catalog with the goal of having it ready to go to press the first of December.

Sometimes it's hard to remember what time of year it is! In May we have our heads deep in the holiday catalog, and here we are dreaming of spring before the first snowflake falls. It can be very disorienting for me. It's normal to have to stop and think what day it is, but I often have to stop and think what month or season it is! But planning ahead is an important part of your business, and right now you have a chance to plan ahead. We are asking for testimonials and photos for the Spring catalog. If you don't think it makes a difference to have your face in a catalog, you haven't tried it yet!

You are not just selling product when you sell For Every Home. You are selling the company, the experience, and yourself! What better way to promote your business than to be in the catalog? I got a call from a woman this week wanting to join us, who had purchased a Celebrating Women magazine last year along with several other direct-selling magazines. A year later ours was the only one she hadn't thrown away, and when she saw us on the cover of the latest edition in Barnes and Noble this year bought it and decided it was time to jump on this train before it left the station! She asked if I was in the photo of the staff in the magazine, and I told her I was. She was thrilled to be talking to me. You have no idea what a difference having your face in print makes to your credibility. Don't let this opportunity pass you by - flood us with photos and testimonials NOW!

Idea of the Week!

Idea of the Week!

This idea comes from Barbara Williams:

Wal-Mart has, in the craft section, some clear plastic bags that are exactly the same size as a business card.  100 for .99.  Cut some cube into quarters and put them in for a scent to hand out with your business card.  Just staple them to the business card.

"The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson

"The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson

If you went to Seminar this year you received this amazing book called "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson. This book is full of great ideas on how to become more succesful but here is just one of the concepts it shares:

MODELED KNOWLEDGE. Did you know that your income will tend to be the average of your ten best friends' incomes? (If having more income is a goal of yours, either get new friends or raise the income of the friends you have now!) If you want to raise the quality of your life, hang out with people who have been there and done that. If you want to be a great public speaker, hang out with great speakers. If you want to be a success in business, hang around successful business people. If you want to be a terrific parent, spend lots of time with men and women who have mastered parenting. Do you know why birds of a feather flock together? Because they're all going in the same direction. They share a common vision. If you're after a goal-any goal-go find the people who have achieved that goal, or who are well along the path to attaining that goal, and be with them, hang out with them, camp on their doorstep. It's called the Law of Association. It's a Law because it always works.
